The Coastal Poem
Whitstable and Herne Bay Schools

Children's artwork inspired by the poem 'Nation's Ode to the Coast' by Dr John Cooper Clarke, using a variety of art techniques.

The exhibition has been produced by children from age 4 to 11 years old. Each school has based their artwork around a verse from the poem by Dr John Cooper Clarke. The artwork includes the mediums of textiles, collage, sculpture, painting and drawing.
Although each school worked on the artwork separately, all the work is based on the sea, boats and beaches, and is fitting for the coastal locations of Herne Bay and Whitstable schools.
