Friday 17 January to Sunday 16 March 2014
Special Exhibitions Room
Please note this exhibition has now finished.
The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge in Canterbury has been selected by the National Gallery as the first venue to host the first painting – Edouard Manet’s ‘The Execution of Maximilian’ – in a three year Masterpiece Tour sponsored by Christie's.
At the Beaney Manet's masterpiece is the focus of an exhibition and supporting programme looking at how artists, including photographers, have created iconic images that come to define events involving political killing.
